Why Swiss Made Tours

Plenty of tours run through the Alps. Very few feel like they were made just for you.

No bus, no script, no schedule but yours. Two local guides, one private party at a time, and days that go beyond the guidebook — to places ordinary tours simply can't reach.

Local knowledge

We live in Grindelwald, at the foot of the Eiger. We know the hidden viewpoints, the quiet hours and the weather windows the crowds miss.

Everything organised

Tickets, timing, weather calls and a solid plan B — we handle the logistics so your day just flows. And we'll happily play photographer at every stop.

World-wise

Having travelled and lived on every continent, we know exactly what international guests appreciate — and how to make you feel at home.

Exclusive by design

One party per tour, never mixed with strangers. Your interests set the route, your pace sets the clock — the whole day flexes around you.

"One of us never left the Bernese Oberland. The other travelled the whole world — and came home. Between the two of us, you're in very good hands."

Signature tours

Five days we never get tired of.

Each of these days is exclusively yours: private hotel pick-up, a route shaped around your wishes, and the freedom to stay longer wherever you fall in love with the view. We adapt to you, the weather and the season.

Travel your way

No fine print you need a lawyer for. These conditions apply to all our tours — the full details come with your booking confirmation.

Questions & answers

Everything guests ask us — answered.

Anything else on your mind? Just write us — we answer personally, usually within 24 hours.

Is the tour really 100% private?

Yes. One party per day — you'll never share your tour with strangers. Your guide, the car and the whole day belong to you alone, and the route follows your wishes, not a fixed script.

How many guests can join?

In our comfortable luxury car we take up to 3 (+1) guests, and prices are per group — not per person. On rail-based tours bigger groups are easy — and beyond that, we find a solution for every request: larger parties, special wishes, unusual plans. Just ask us and we'll make it work.

Where do you pick us up?

At your hotel or train station anywhere in the Jungfrau Region — Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and around. Pick-ups beyond the region, for example Thun or Bern, are possible on request.

What's included in the price — and what's not?

Included: your private guide, door-to-door pick-up and drop-off by car (or a fully planned rail itinerary), all planning and timing, and a solid plan B. Not included: rail and gondola tickets, boat rides, entrances and meals — we organise them for you at cost.

What happens if the weather turns bad?

We watch the mountain weather closely and time each day around it. If conditions make your tour impossible, we propose an alternative programme or a new date — and if neither works, you receive a full refund of the tour price. See our booking terms.

Are the tours suitable for children and older guests?

Absolutely. Our routes use easy trails, trains and gondolas, and the pace is entirely yours. Child seats are available — just mention ages when you book, and we'll shape a day everyone enjoys.

How fit do we need to be?

Not very — most viewpoints are reachable by car, train or gondola, and the walks are optional and easy. Keen hikers get more trail, relaxed travellers get more views with less effort. Tell us your style and we plan accordingly.

What should we bring?

Layers — mountain weather changes fast — plus comfortable shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen; the alpine sun is strong. No special equipment is needed on our regular tours.

Which languages do you speak?

English and German — plus proper Swiss German, of course. And your questions about life in the Alps are always welcome; the stories are half the tour.

How far in advance should we book?

In summer and around holidays we recommend booking 2–4 weeks ahead — we take only one party per day, so dates fill up. Short-notice requests are always worth a try; we answer within 24 hours.

Is it common to pay tips on a private tour?

Yes, although it's not expected from you. If you had a great experience, a tip is always warmly appreciated.

Where can we leave a review after the tour?

Where it helps us most: on Google or Tripadvisor. After your tour we'll send you a short thank-you message with the direct links. An honest review is the biggest compliment for a small team like ours — thank you!
